Phil Stamp is a former Middlesbrough FC midfielder who made his debut aged 17 . An England u17/18/21 international who played at Middlesbrough under Bryan Robson with players such as Ravenelli , Juninho , Alen Boksic and played in the 1997 FA cup final against Chelsea. Phil also made 70 appearances for Hearts before retiring through injury.

Phil holds UEFA Level 2 badge and undertaking his B license next season.


Stu Brightwell is a former Manchester United Winger who retiring at a young age through injury. Stu went into coaching and has been at Sunderland Academy for 13 years and is a very respected coach. His teams at Sunderland last season won the u13 and u14 Premier League cup and his u12 won the National Futsal cup beating Chelsea in every final.

Stu holds UEFA B licence , Youth Awards and is awaiting acceptance on his UEFA A Licence.

Dave MacTiernan

Dave Mactiernan came through the highly acclaimed Middlesbrough Football club Academy and turned professional aged 17 . Dave moved onto Harrogate Town but continued to coach in the MFC Academy for several years . Dave has played over 500 games and is currently player / coach at Whitby Town .

Dave is a fulltime PE teacher , holds UEFA B license and a Degree in Sports Coaching .

Gary Nevitt

Gary Nevitt is a former pro footballer who played for Nottingham Forest and Mbro before retiring from the pro game through injury. Gary is lead coach at Middlesbrough Football Club Pre Academy sessions and was lead coach for 8 years at the highly succesful MFC Eston Development centre . Gary is a very highly respected coach in the Teesside area and we are delighted to have him onboard . Gary is FA Level 2 , Youth Mod 1,2,3 holder .


Andy Collet is a former Pro Keeper who played in the Premier League with his home town club MFC. Andy went into make over 250 professional appearances for Bristol Rovers and Darlington. Andy retired through injury aged 29 and began coaching and has been First Team coach at Oldham, Hartlepool , Darlington and Gateshead and is currently first team coach at York City FC .Andy delivers at several of our academies and has designed and delivers our highly successful Gamechanger sessions . Andy holds UEFA B Licence outfield as well as being a very highly qualified GK coach.


Kevin began his career at Nottingham Forest making 11 appearances in the Football league between 1999 and 2002. After leaving Forest Kevin spent 3 seasons at Chesterfield making 51 appearances and scoring once. Kevin is from a footballing family and his brother Andy made over 500 appearances for Hull and his younger brother Michael was Tottenham captain and is currently Notts Forest captain.


Paul Connor a former striker began his career as a pro at Middlesbrough before being sold to Stoke City . Paul went onto make over 400 professional appearances for clubs including Stoke , Swansea , Cheltenham , Leyton Orient and Rochdale . Paul is current player / coach at West Auckland Town. Paul coached at MFC Academy for several years and holds the UEFA B License.

Micky Barron

Micky Barron made 3 appearances for Middlesbrough FC before signing for Hartlepool United . Micky went on to play over 320 games and was Captain for the majority . Micky captained the team that won promotion into league one and missed out on winning promotion to the Championship in the playoff final at Cardiff against Sheffiled Wednesday. Micky went onto become First team coach and Caretaker manager at Hartlepool United. Micky holds the UEFA A License.
